Acquisition brief

There is no showroom. There is a shortlist.

Black Rabbit holds no stock. You name the vehicle, we acquire it, restore it, and deliver it to you on a fixed 12 to 24 month term. Six questions tell us whether we can build your lease.

Takes about 60 seconds. No credit check. Nothing is run against your file.

The process

Commissioned, not collected.

Most leasing companies sell you what is already on the forecourt. We work the other way round.

01

You brief us

Exact make, model, spec and colour. We build from your brief, not from a catalogue and not from whatever happens to be in the yard.

Day one
02

We acquire it

We locate and purchase that vehicle through our acquisition channels, then restore and certify it to our standard before it is signed over to you.

Two to six weeks
03

We deliver it

The car arrives at your address on a fixed term with fixed costs. One point of contact from first brief to handing you the keys.

Handover

Which is why there is usually nothing to come and look at.
Your car is bought after you commission it, not before.

Six questions

Build your brief.

Answer honestly. If we are not the right fit we will tell you on the last screen rather than waste a fortnight of your time.

What a finished brief looks like.

    James, self-employed contractor

Briefed a Range Rover Velar after being declined by every traditional lender. He committed to an 18 month fixed term with a deposit in place, accepted the acquisition window, and took delivery in two weeks. He never visited a showroom, because there was never a showroom to visit.

The six questions we get every week.

Can I come and see the car before I commit?
Almost always no, and it is worth explaining why properly. At the point you enquire, your vehicle has not been purchased yet. There is nothing parked anywhere with your name on it. We acquire the car once your brief is agreed and your initial payment is in place, and you see it at handover, fully restored and certified. The exception is when we already have something acquired and ready to move. If you need a car inside a week, say so in the brief and we will tell you exactly what is there.
Do you have anything available right now?
We do not run a stock list, and that is deliberate. A yard full of cars means we push you toward whatever we are sitting on rather than what you actually want. Now and then there is something already acquired and ready to move. Ask in the brief and we will tell you what that is today rather than send you a catalogue.
Why do you need money up front?
Because we buy the car outright before you ever drive it. The initial payment is what allows us to commit our own capital to an acquisition made specifically for you. It is the single biggest factor in whether we can take a brief on, which is why it is one of the six questions.
Do you run a credit check?
No. We do not run a traditional credit search and nothing is recorded against your file. We assess affordability through the brief and the conversation that follows. Your financial history stays private.
How long does it really take?
Two to six weeks from agreed brief to keys in your hand on a standard acquisition. Common models at common specs sit at the shorter end. Rare colours, specific trims and imported vehicles sit at the longer end. If you need one inside a week there are two faster routes: we rush the acquisition for a premium, or you take the closest match we can get hold of now. Pick whichever suits you in the brief and we will tell you what is actually possible.
What happens at the end of the term?
You hand the vehicle back, extend the term, or brief us on the next one. There is no balloon payment and no long-term finance agreement sitting behind it. Fixed term, fixed cost, clean exit.
